Preferred Customer

This is a TUTORIAL on how to signup up a prospect as Preferred Customer.

Prospects can either signup as Distributor or Customer - the two basic user types in your company, identified by the system. However, you can specialize a customer to be a Preferred Customer by flagging them, on purchase of a certain product; know in the system as Allowed Product Level.

Let us create a new product called Preferred Customer Upgrade, which on purchasing should flag the prospect as Preferred Customer during the signup process. The process is similar to that of adding new products in the Product Maintenance, along with specifying the details of the flag type.

Step 1: Click on Configuration > Shopping Cart > Product Maint in the left hand menu to go to the Product Maintenance page.
Step 2: Click on the Add New Product button at the bottom of the product list to go to the Product Order > Product Add page.
Step 3: Fill in the details of the product and then click on the Save Product button to save the changes. See Add a Product manual for help.
Step 4: Click on the Edit link next to the product name in the list to bring up the Product Edit page. See Edit Product Details manual for help.
Step 5: Next you need to enter the details of the product (i.e. general, price, etc) as you prefer and save them. In addition to that, you need to add FlagTy with value 19, Flag Value as 999 and Flag Period (number of commission periods to be flagged for), in the Product Details section.
